Nagpur News : Police force has been deployed to help common people but the table turns round when policemen start misusing their powers and themselves commits unforgivable crimes. Kalamna police have arrested a police official for raping a young married woman repeatedly. The 26-year-old victim, in her complaint, alleged that the accused Suryakant Subhashchandra Tiwari (34) met her husband who is a vendor and befriended him.
The victim further said that Suryakant made frequent visits to their house on the pretext of meeting her husband. However, the accused raped her first on November 23, 2013 and later repeatedly raped her and threatened her of dire consequences if she narrated the incidence to anyone. Frustrated with repeated sexual harassments, the victim finally decided to approach the police. On the complaint of the victim, Kalamna police have arrested Suryakant, a resident of Balaji Nagar, Hudkeshwar after registering an offence under 376 (2) (a) (1), and 506 of the IPC.
