Nagpur News: Both at the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court and at its Principal Seat in Mumbai, two division benches declined to grant any interim direction to the State govt during motion -hearing of the writ petitions against implementation of Local Body Tax (LBT) in the municipal corporation areas in Maharashtra and sensing its opportunity, soon thereafter, there was announcement on the TV screens of the State Chief Minister in the State Legislature that LBT has been implemented.

At the high court here, the division bench consisting of Justice Bhushan Dharmadhikari and Justice Arun Chaudhari was informed by the Govt Pleader Nitin Sambre that the hearing was on at Mumbai since yesterday, in the court of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Mridula Bhatkar and some order was likely to be passed by this evening.

All parties here, showed readiness for hearing of the 4 petitions pending here, including the one by the city mayor Anil Sole, on Monday or on some day thereafter, but at the same time, the counsel for the petitioners including senior counsel Sunil Manohar repeatedly and quite eloquently prayed for some interim protection to the petitioners, which the court quite firmly declined and posted the case for further hearing on April 2 next.
