Nagpur: Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology Nagpur has been selected for one of the most prestigious National Award for Education. National Award is for Innovation in Building Academic & Industry Interface. The award is in recognition of leadership, development, innovation and industry interface of the institute, as innovation is crucial element in every institute’s leadership and development. Dr.Vivek Nanoti, Principal PIET, received the award during World CSR Congress at Taj Land Ends, Bandra Mumbai on 18th February ’16 at the hands of renowned personality in industry Dr. C. M. Dwivedi, President & Global Head – Corp. HR, Datamatics Global Services Ltd.18th Feb being World CSR Day, the conference was graced by the renowned social workers like Padmashree Prakash Baba Amte,Smt.Kiran Bedi and Dr.Bhaskar Chaterjee.It was conferred during the grand ceremony of 8th Innovative Education awards.
To bridge the gap between academics and industry expectation, PIET has developed very strong industry interface in last few years with large number of reputed industries, government, private and public sectors such as WCL, NIMH, CIIMS, TCS, TAL, Mahindra & Mahindra, Baidyanath, ANACON Labs, Microsoft, Siemens by signing an official understanding for R&D activities involving students and teachers to expose them to the industry. Dr.Nanoti expressed his gratitude towards the management of LTJSS, Dr.Satish Chaturvedi, Abha Chaturvedi, Dushyant Chaturvedi and Abhijeet Deshmukh for their constant motivation and support. He also appreciated very enthusiastic participation of Deans, HODs and faculty members and students in strengthening this industry interface.
