‘Pareshan’ Girl hits city for ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’ promo

A singer and song-writer from Mumbai who is currently riding the success wave of debut Bollywood song Pareshaan from the movie Ishaaqzade was recently in the city to promote reality show ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’.
‘Dil Hai Hindustani’ is all set to launch the most unique singing reality show in India. The show will celebrate the popularity of Bollywood music through talents from across the globe, from different cultures and nationality, bound together by their love for Hindi tinsel world songs.

Dil Hai Hindustani promises to be a musical extravaganza showcasing phenomenal performances through not just solo, but also duet and group performances consisting of bands, choirs, acapella; a first of its kind on Indian television. Ushering a new league in singing reality shows, Dil Hai Hindustani is bound to change the way music shows and singing talents have been perceived in this country.

The talent on the show will be judged by an expert panel of jury who have together put India on the world map for music. The panel of judges will consist of maestro of the music industry Shalmali Kholgade who has handpicked singers for the show. Along with the charming beauty who is known to have the most captivating voice, will be joining Producer/Director Karan Johar who is known to have a quench for talent. Bollywood’s music sensations Shekhar Ravjiani and Badshah will be seen monitoring the contestants and judging the show.

Knowing how to stir emotions with her voice, she is anticipating a lot of talented singers to participate from across the world. The Pareshaan singer who has set a benchmark in the music industry with her spectacular performances is thrilled to be the connoisseur of this platform.

Nagpur Today had a candid chat with Shalmali Kholgade. Excerpts:

NT: What makes ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’ different from other?
Shalmali: People from all over the world who can sing in Hindi can participate in DH2, there is no age bar. Solo/group/duet any kind of musical performance are welcome here.

NT: Any plans of making an acting debut?
Shalmali: No. For now I just want to focus on music.

NT: How do you start your day when you are not working ?
Shalmali: I start my day with Reyaaz with coffee and knitting.

NT: What is your dream?
Shalmali: Too sing, dance and act on stage.

NT: Tell us about your journey into music industry?
Shalmali: When I was in 2nd year, I sung Eagles ‘Desperado’ which made me realize that yes this is it. I want to sing.
