Nagpur: A 55-year old man, in a revengeful act, attacked a doctor for allegedly causing death of his daughter, negligently.
According to information, Karishma Manjre the 16-year old daughter of accused Arun Manjre was afflicted by dengue some five months ago. Arun Manjre had admitted Karishma in Sakkardara-based hospital of Dr Khadatkar. However, after treatment for a few days, Karishma died of dengue. The accused Arun Manjre suspected that Dr Khadatkar treated Karishma improperly resulting in her death. The death of the young daughter had left Arun Manjre dejected and angry as well. After five months of wait, the accused Manjre reached Dr Khadatkar’s hospital around 2.30 pm on Thursday and lay in ambush outside. The moment Dr Khadatkar came out, he attacked him with a spear and iron rod with the intention of killing him. However, the nearby people intervened and caught hold of Arun Manjre and later handed him over to Sakkardara police.
In the meantime, the injured Dr Khadatkar was taken to a private hospital in Dhantoli where he is being treated for deep injuries.
The accused Arun Manjre is cloth trader by profession and has two sons. Karishma was his only daughter.
