Nagpur: In a shocking incident that sent shockwaves across the Sonegaon area, cops have arrested a house driver for stealing booty worth Rs 3.54 lakh while the house owner was busy taking care of his sick wife at the hospital.
According to the complainant, Devendra Pratapsingh Roy (64), a resident of RH 11, Bundel, Mahindra MIHAN Khapri, was at the hospital taking care of his sick wife between May 1 and May 3. During this period, he had kept his house keys with his house help.
On May 12, when Roy was set to travel to Bangalore, he found his gold ornaments missing from the almirah. He subsequently alerted Sonegaon Police.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the accused driver, identified as Ankit Dilip Bhoye (45), a resident of Parsodi, Wardha Road, had gained entry using the keys kept with the house help and decamped with the gold ornaments.
The Unit 1 of the Crime Branch arrested Bhoye and also recovered the stolen goods.
