Nagpur Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad has made a major breakthrough under Operation Thunder, uncovering a significant drug haul during a pre-dawn raid in Mankapur. Acting on specific intelligence, police raided a spot near Raj Apartment, behind Election Hospital, and apprehended three suspects.
During the operation, authorities seized 52 grams of MD powder, three mobile phones, a Mahindra Scorpio, and an Activa scooter — with the total seizure valued at approximately ₹16.25 lakh.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Nawab alias Jamshed Khan (31), Ayush Amrit Meshram (21), and Rohit Ravindra Singh (26). Another accused, Shahana Waje alias Pakya Mohammad Arif, managed to flee and is currently being traced by multiple police teams.
According to officials, the suspects were spotted acting suspiciously near their vehicles during patrol duty. Upon inspection in the presence of witnesses, the team discovered narcotics in their possession. A formal case has been registered under the NDPS Act.
This successful operation marks another strong step in Nagpur Police’s ongoing war against narcotics, with investigators suggesting that the arrests could lead to the unmasking of a wider city drug network.
