Old person knocked dead by a four-wheeler in hit and run case at Sakkardara Square, booked

In an incident of hit and run, a four-wheeler driver knocked an old man dead on Tuesday night. The accident occurred at Sakkardara Square at 10 pm.

According to police, the deceased Laxmanrao Lakhorkar (67), resident of Old Bagadganj, Plot No. 413, was returning home on his cycle at about 10 pm on Tuesday. When Laxman reached in front of Cell Medical Stores, near Auto Stand at Sakkardara Square, a rashly driven four-wheeler (MH-40/AC 6768) hit him and sped away from the spot. The critically injured Laxman was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital. However, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at 3.30 am of Wednesday.

Sakkardara PSI Wagh, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Maroti Laxman Lakhorkar, has booked the absconding driver of the killer four-wheeler under Sections 279, 337, 304(A) of the IPC and launched a search to arrest him.
