Old man duped of Rs 4.21 lakh by 2 men who ‘promised’ his daughter job in WCL

Nagpur: A 73-year old man was taken for a ride and cheated to the tune of Rs 4.21 lakh by two men who promised to provide his daughter a job in Western Coalfields Limited (WCL). Neither to job was provided to the aged man’s daughter nor his money returned by the two accused.

The complainant Mohan Govind Shahu, resident of Shahu Bhavan, Untkhana Square near Medical Square, told Imambada police that the two accused Sharad Dhoke (30) of Takia Ward, Bhandara and Haseen Khan (32) of Jafer Nagar, approached him in July 2014 and “promised’ to provide his daughter job in WCL. With these ‘promising’ words, the accused took Rs 4.21 lakh from Mohan Shahu. However, neither his daughter got job in WCL nor the money was returned to Mohan by the two accused. Realising he has been cheated, Mohan filed a case with Imambada police in this connection.

PSI P M Mohekar has booked the two accused Sharad Dhoke and Haseen Khan under Sections 420, 34 of the IPC. Further probe is underway.
