Nagpur: A delegation of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC), led by Mayur Panchamatiya, Past President, recently felicitated Shashikant Kekre, the newly posted Joint Commissioner (Food), Nagpur Division. The NVCC delegation apprised him about the problems being experienced by the traders due to Food Safety Act.
Shashikant Kekre assured his full co-operation during his tenure. He said FDA is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through regulation and supervision of food safety standard. Kekre assured that he will ensure Nagpur City has good quality food in hotels, restaurants, roadside vendors and shall educate them to keep their kitchens neat and clean the hygienic way. The FDA team shall look forward with dedicated professionals working to protect, promote and enhance the health of people and shall act fairly.
The Joint Commissioner (Food) Shashikant Kekre has already been adjudged as best FDO by Limca Book of Records. Assuring the NVCC delegation, Kekre said the FDA will not resort to any sort of harassment to traders during his regime. “Stipulated time shall be given for hearing all cases and problems faced by traders would be solved,” Kekre said. He said he will visit NVCC soon to meet all the traders and educate them as media between department and citizens.
The delegation comprised of Mayur Panchmatiya, Past President, Raju Vyas, Treasurer, Sachin Puniyani, Bhavanishankar Dave, Convener, Food Committee and Narayandas Rathi.
