NMC’s Grievances Redressal Centre gets good response from citizens

Till Thursday, August 18, 609 complaints out of 945 have been resolved in all the ten zones of the civic body.

Nagpur: In a bid to expedite the public grievance system, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) had activated the Corona Control Rooms into ‘Civic Grievances Redressal Centre’ at the zonal level to deal with the day to day problems faced by the citizens.

The initiative of Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B has been getting good response from the citizens. Till Thursday, August 18, 945 complaints have been received in the redressal centres at the zone level and so far 609 complaints have been resolved in all the ten zones.

A civic problem redressal center has been opened to register complaints faced by the citizens regarding sewage, water, sanitation, street lights. Its benefits are being seen by the citizens today.

So far, out of total 181 complaints received in Laxmi Nagar Zone, 58 complaints have been resolved. Similarly, 84 out of 107 complaints in Dharampeth Zone, 271 out of 291 complaints in Hanuman Nagar Zone, 38 out of 111 complaints in Dhantoli Zone, 55 out of 79 complaints in Nehru Nagar Zone have been settled. Also, 35 out of 48 complaints in Gandhibagh Zone, 26 out of 45 complaints in Satranjipura Zone, 07 out of 09 complaints in Lakadganj Zone, 23 out of 55 complaints in Ashi Nagar Zone, 12 out of 19 complaints in Mangalwari Zone have been settled.

The NMC has appealed to the citizens to register their complaints in the concerned zone office and take advantage of the municipal services. The Civic Grievances Redressal Centre in the zones is open from 7 am to 8 pm and after the onset of monsoon, the Centre is operational 24 hours a day. Citizens are urged to register their grievances at their respective zonal offices and avail the services of the NMC.
