Nagpur: A special team of Nagpur Municpal Corporation (NMC) conducted surprise inspection visit to the slaughter houses and shops in the city on Thursday.
According to information, in view of the festival on September 17 there was a ban on sale of meat in the city. In view of this, a team of Kanji house and anti encroachment squad of NMC initiated a joint inspection drive on the slaughter houses in the city.
According to sources, the inspection team conducted inspection at meat shops at Seminary hills (TV Tower), Futala and adjoining areas, Khamla market, Trimurti nagar and Gokulpeth Bazaar.
However, according to the officials it did not found any such shops opened during the day.
