NMC Schools Record 91.97% SSC Result in 2026 Exams

Nagpur: Students of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) schools recorded an overall pass percentage of 91.97 per cent in the March 2026 Class 10 (SSC) board examinations. Mayor Neeta Thakre, Deputy Mayor Leela Hathibed, and Ruling Party Leader Narendra (Balya) Borkar felicitated the top-ranking students from Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, and English mediums at NMC headquarters, Civil Lines.

Out of 972 students who appeared for the exams, 882 successfully passed. Urdu Medium: Achieved the highest pass rate at 98.91 per cent. Nikhat Parveen topped with 89.20 per cent. Hindi Medium: Recorded a 89.53 per cent result. Prachi Gupta secured the first rank with 89.20 percent. English Medium: Achieved a 89 per cent pass rate. Ifrah Sahar Sheikh topped with 88 per cent . Marathi Medium: Recorded a 87.11 percent result. Sanskriti Suryavanshi stood first with 88.20 per cent.

Special Categories: Sanskriti Suryavanshi also topped among reserved category students (88.20 per cent), while Tanjila Muskan ranked first among specially abled students with 72.60 percent.

During the event, Narendra Borkar announced that the NMC plans to open two English medium schools in every Assembly constituency to meet the growing demand for quality education. He emphasised that the civic body is committed to upgrading academic standards to ensure parents do not have to rely on draws for admissions.

Mayor Thakre and other officials congratulated the students, particularly noting that girls outshined boys in the merit lists, and urged parents to give students the freedom to choose their future career paths.

NMC student Ankita Gupta defies poverty, secures 87% sans coaching

Ankita Pintu Gupta, a resident of Surendragadh, has demonstrated that success is born of dedication rather than expensive tuition. Coming from an underprivileged labour-class family, Ankita secured an impressive 87 percent in her Semi-English medium studies without any private coaching. She not only topped her school but also emerged as a high ranker at the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) level.

Her journey from a humble background to dreaming of becoming a doctor serves as an inspiration for students across economically weaker sections. Her school, Surendragadh Hindi Secondary School, achieved a 100 per cent result in SSC this year, showcasing the strength of government institutions.
