NMC-OCW plans 12-hour shutdown at Pench-II WTP on Sept 28

Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Orange City Water are working for Rehabilitation and Augmentation of Pench-II WTP from 145 MLD to 175 MLD capacity to provide benefits to Dhabha ESR command area and Seminary Hill old GSR and new ESR areas soon.

For that it is required that the 1300 mm MS line carrying raw water from Gorewada BPT (Break Pressure Tank) should be interconnected to existing 1000 mm Pre Stressed Concrete (PSC) pipeline to the Cascade Aerator of Pench-II WTP.

For this NMC-OCW has planned to carry out a 12-hour shutdown at Pench II WTP on September 28 (Wednesday) from 10 am to 10 pm. During this shutdown only Pench-II WTP will remain non-operational, while other WTP’s like Pench-I , Pench-III, Old Gorewada and Pench-IV, Kanhan WTP will remain fully operational.

After augmentation of P-II the 16 MLD capacity Old Gorewada WTP will be abandoned and the 450mm feeder line (which is prone to leakages due to dilapidated condition) from OG to Katia Bhandar will be discarded.

Areas to remain affected due to Pench-II shutdown are:

Laxmi Nagar Zone: Pratap Nagar ESR, Khamla ESR, Laxmi Nagar New ESR, Takli Seem ESR, Gayatri Nagar ESR, Chinchbhavan ESR (Hanuman Nagar Zone).

Laxmi Nagar OLD ESR: Abhyankar Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Bajaj Nagar, Vasant Nagar, Rahate Colny (Part), Aath Rasta Square Area, East Surendra Nagar, Tatya Tope Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Urvella Colony, SE railway Colony, NIT Layout, Atrey Layout Dhangarpura Slum, Friends Colony, RPTS Road, Dongre layout, Madhav Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Shankar Nagar, Dhandike Layout.

Dharampeth Zone: Khare Town, Bhagwaghar Layout, Dharampeth, Trikoni Park, Daga Layout, Corporation Colony,etc Surendragarh, CPWD, Hazari pahar, Vayusena, Police line Takli, MECL.

Gittikhadan & Makardhokada Mangalwari Zone: The water through Tankers shall not be provided to the affected areas.
NMC-OCW further appealed citizens to store sufficient water for their use. The inconvenience caused due to affected supply conditions is deeply regretted.
