Nagpur : The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has issued a clarification regarding a news item titled “NMC to make short films to showcase its achievements,” published in the Nagpur First edition of Lokmat Times on October 27, 2025.
In its official statement, the civic body emphasized that the current e-tender for appointing agencies to produce short films and documentaries is not the first such initiative by NMC. Rather, it represents the third phase in an ongoing public communication effort aimed at increasing civic awareness and transparency.
According to the clarification, the NMC’s Public Relations Department had earlier empaneled agencies for similar projects in 2020 and 2023. “The current e-tender seeks to create a two-year panel for producing awareness-oriented films, with a proposed budget of ₹15 lakh,” the statement noted.

The Corporation underlined that these audio-visual projects are not merely promotional tools but vital instruments for spreading information on key civic initiatives, development projects, safety measures, and public welfare schemes.
“The NMC remains committed to proactive communication and citizen engagement through creative and educational mediums,” the clarification concluded.
