
Nagpur: The Nagpur City Police Force has once again proven its excellence, emerging as the top-performing unit at the 20th Maharashtra State Police Duty Meet held in Pune. Demonstrating exceptional professional skill and teamwork, the Nagpur Police bagged a total of 15 medals — 6 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze — along with three prestigious trophies, securing the top rank across the state.
The state-level competition, jointly organized by the Maharashtra State Intelligence Training Institute and State Reserve Police Force Groups 1 and 2, took place at Ramtekdi, Pune, from September 15 to 19, 2025.
The 27-member Nagpur Police contingent, comprising 5 officers, 22 women constables, and two trained police dogs — Raven and Max — showcased outstanding performance across all divisions. The meet aimed to enhance the technical, scientific, and investigative capabilities of the police force.
Competitions were held in six key categories: Scientific Aid to Investigation, Police Photography, Videography, Anti-Sabotage Check, Computer Awareness, and Dog Squad Operations.
Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal, Nagpur Police achieved remarkable results, earning three major honors — the General Championship Trophy, Scientific Aid to Investigation Trophy, and CID Centenary Trophy.
Outstanding Individual Performances:
- PI Prashant Thaware – 4 medals (1 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze) in Forensic Science, Crime Investigation, Medico-Legal, and Fingerprint categories.
- HC Palash Waghmare – 2 Gold medals in Computer Awareness.
- WPC Pratiksha Nagpure – 2 Gold medals in Observation and Portrait Test.
- PC Krunal Uke – 1 Gold medal in Computer Programming.
- WPSI Apoorva Borkar – 2 Silver medals in Forensic Science and Fingerprint.
- HC Pradeep Shirse – 1 Silver medal in Police Photography.
- HC Rasika Ghaywat – 1 Bronze medal in Portrait Test.
- WASI Ashwini Kale – 2 Bronze medals in Lifting, Packaging, and Forensic Science.

A grand felicitation event was held at Police Bhavan, Nagpur, to honor the victorious team. Speaking at the event, CP Dr. Singal commended the officers, stating, “Achieving the top rank in the state is a proud moment for Nagpur Police. From winning 9 medals last year to 15 this year, this progress reflects our growing excellence. Let’s aim even higher next year.”
The event was attended by Joint CP Naveenchandra Reddy, Additional CPs Vasant Pardeshi, Dr. Shivaji Rathod, and Rajendra Dabhade, along with other senior officers, marking a moment of pride and inspiration for the entire force.
