In order to assess the Pulmonary Function Test, Body Plethysmography, a DLCO Machine (Diffusion Capacity of Lung for Carbon Mono Oxide) has been acquired and installed at the Department of Pulmonary Medicine of NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences & Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, Digdoh Hills, Nagpur. This was done due to the efforts of Dean Dr. Dasgupta, and Professor & HOD Dr. B. O. Tayade.
This DLCO Machine consists of three Components to assess Pulmonary Function Test, Body Plethysmography.
DLCO test is very useful in the assessment of various obstructive and restrictive lung disease and rare disease of the lung like Sarcoidosis, ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease) and Occupational Lung Diseases.
All those patients attending the hospital, Private practitioners and Chest Specialitist Doctors can avail this facility with very minimum cost. Newer Diagnostic and Treatment Modalities in Pulmonology like Video Fiber Optic Bronchoscopy, Sleep Study, MDR-TB Centre (Diagnosis & Treatment), Intensive Respiratory Care Unit and Interventional Pulmonology Facilities are available in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine.
