Jhulelal Institute of Technology organized a talk on “Vision for Development of Vidarbha : Present & Future” recently. It is in continuation with the tradition of creating social awareness for overall development of the region. Nitinji Gadkari, Cabinet Minister for Road, Transport & Shipping, Government of India was the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker of the program. Nitinji Gadkari is also chief patron of Jhulelal Institute of Technology. He emphasized that in spite of vastness and richness in terms of mineral wealth and forest cover of Vidarbha region, the region has poor development, infrastructure and employability. He emphasized enormous employment opportunity of this region could be achieved just by thinking differently. In this context he quoted numerous instances where ordinary people achieved remarkable success because of their creative and innovative approach. There is a large opportunity of employment in various sectors such as power, fertilizer, textiles, food and beverages from low cost locally available resources. He emphasized on the creating wealth out of waste wherein he quoted producing biodiesel from waste oil, biogas from sewage waste and so on. He also urged the universities, educational institutes and intellectuals to ignite the mind of the young researchers and students rather than making them only graduates / book worms.
On this occasion the bhoomipoojan of Jhulelal Institute of Architecture was performed at the hands of the dignitaries.
Dr. S. P. Kane, Vice-Chancellor, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University; Dr. G. Jaiswal, Vice-Chancellor, Awadh University; Dr. V. S. Deshpande, Ex-Vice-Chancellor, R T M Nagpur University; Dr. R. V. Kshirsagar, Dean, Engineering Faculty and Dr. D. K. Agrawal, Senate Member, RTM Nagpur University were the Guests of Honour. Mahesh Sadhwani, Chairman, JIT presided over the function and proposed the vote of thanks. Virendra Kukreja, Secretary, JIT was convener of the program. The program was graced by the presence of Basantlalji Shaw, Chairman NECO groups; Dr. Satish Wate, Director, NEERI; Pramod Pampatwar, Director-Technical JIT; Jay Sahajramani, Treasurer-SSCT; Pramod Wairagade, Praveen Balany, Dr. Hemant Asrani, Girish Sadhwani, Director, JIT; Dr. S. S. Limaye, Principal, Dr. D. Bhowmick, Vice-principal, JIT and management members of universities and various colleges.
