Nagpur: A large number of depositors attended the 37th annual general meeting of Nirmal Ujjwal Credit Co-operative Society, hoping for clear information and a concrete assurance on the return of their deposits. However, even after the meeting, they were left waiting without a clear payment schedule.
The annual general meeting was held at Anusaya Sabhagruh in Jagnade Chowk, Nagpur. The organisation’s founder, Pramod Manmode, was also present. Depositors raised questions about when their deposits would be returned.
It was reported that Manmode sought 45 to 60 days from the depositors before leaving the meeting. This has left them with the key question of when they will actually receive their money.
Additional 45–60-day wait raises concern
For depositors who have been waiting for their money for a long time, the request for an additional 45 to 60 days has increased concern. Those attending the meeting had hoped for a clear timeline for payments, but they will now have to wait again after the request for more time.
Several financial issues on the AGM agenda
The notice for the annual general meeting included financial matters such as the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, budget, allocation of profits, the limit on external borrowing by the organisation and the statutory auditor’s report.
For depositors, however, the return of their deposits remained the most important issue. They were expecting answers and clarity on the matter during the meeting.
Depositors are now watching the next 45 to 60 days. Their concern is not only about the time involved, but also whether payments will actually begin within the requested period.
The matter now rests with the organisation. It remains to be seen whether the 45 to 60 days sought by Pramod Manmode will resolve the depositors’ difficulties or extend their wait once again.
