Govindrao Wanjari College of Engineering & Technology (GWCET), Nagpur, successfully organised a Two-Day Cyber Security & Social Media Awareness Boot Camp on 21st and 22nd Sept 2026 for its students with the objective of creating awareness about cyber security, responsible use of social media, online safety and emerging digital threats.
The programme was conducted in association with CipherNet Eduverse Pvt. Ltd., with experienced cyber security professionals and expert faculty members conducting the sessions. The programme was designed to provide students with practical knowledge and awareness about the rapidly evolving cyber landscape and the importance of responsible digital behaviour. The boot camp was conducted over two days, with three hours of sessions each day, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the Second, Third and Final Year across various engineering disciplines.

The sessions covered important and relevant aspects of cyber security and social media awareness, with emphasis on practical understanding and real-world situations. The students were sensitised to various aspects of cyber security, including online safety, cyber threats, safe digital practices, social media security, protection of personal information and responsible use of digital platforms.
Message from the Principal
Dr. Salim Chavan, Principal, GWCET, appreciated the successful conduct of the Cyber Security & Social Media Awareness Boot Camp and the enthusiastic participation of the students. He emphasised that such industry-oriented programmes are essential for creating awareness, developing practical skills and preparing students to face the challenges of the digital world. He congratulated all the students, experts, faculty members and the Training & Placement team for the successful completion of the programme.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Anil Tijare, Dean – Training & Placement, GWCET, with the active support of the HODs, Departmental T&P Coordinators and faculty members.

Chavan, for their constant encouragement, motivation and guidance in promoting such industry-oriented initiatives. He also thanked the Vice-Principal, HoDs, faculty coordinators and support teams for their valuable contribution towards the successful completion of the programme.
The successful completion of the Cyber Security & Social Media Awareness Boot Camp reflects GWCET’s continued commitment towards providing students with industry-relevant knowledge, practical exposure and employability-oriented skills beyond the conventional academic curriculum. With cyber security becoming an integral part of every professional and personal digital environment, programmes of this nature play an important role in preparing students to become responsible, informed and digitally aware professionals.
