Nine persons ‘kidnap’ man, extort Rs 3,50,000 as ransom, grab his land by forcible signature

Nagpur News: Nandanvan Police have booked nine persons on the charges of kidnapping or forcible detention of a man, extorting a ransom of Rs 3,50,000 and grabbing his land by forcing him sign on the registry documents related to the land.

According to police, the accused Shyamcharan Dubey, Sharad Sarode, Rakesh Bharti, Kashmirilal Agrawal, Laxmi Kashmirilal Agrawal and their four unidentified accomplices in a well-planned conspiracy trapped the victim. All the accused first called Dnyaneshwar Yadavrao Ambatkar (44), resident of Plot No. 6, Old Area, near Gram Panchayat, Bahadura, Umred Road, Nagpur, to NDN Hospital, near KDK College. As soon as Dnyneshwar reached the spot, the nine accused forcibly pushed into a room and threatened to kill him. They then extorted a ransom of Rs 3,50,000 from Dnyaneshwar. All the nine accused, not satisfied with the ransom of Rs 3,50,000, forced him to sign on ownership documents in the name of the accused Shyamcharan Dubey and submitted the documents for registry. Dnyaneshwar had purchased the land from Amol Ramteke.

When Dnyaneshwar was freed by the accused, he rushed to Nandanvan Police Station and lodged a complaint against the accused in thios connection. Nandanvan PSI Wakode booked the accused under Sections 386, 342, 34 of the IPC and investigating the matter.
