Nagpur: A NEET-UG aspirant from Nagpur was left stunned after discovering that his examination centre for the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled on June 21 had been allotted in Abu Dhabi, despite never selecting an overseas location during the application process.
According to the family of Abdullah Mohammad Talib, the admit card downloaded on Friday afternoon mentioned a school in Abu Dhabi as his examination centre.
Speaking to the media, Abdullah’s father, Mohammad Talib, said the family was shocked upon seeing the centre allocation.

“When we downloaded the admit card at around 4 pm, we found that the examination centre was a school in Abu Dhabi. We had never selected any such option while filling out the form. We immediately contacted the helpline and were asked to send an email. Later, we received a call assuring us that a fresh admit card would be issued by 4 pm on Saturday,” he said.
Talib added that the family had opted for three districts within India and has now requested that Nagpur be allotted as the examination centre.
“My son is deeply disturbed by this incident. There is no time left to travel to another district, let alone another country. He was so upset that he initially did not want to appear for the examination. His mother convinced him to stay hopeful. He does not even have a passport,” he said.
The incident has raised concerns about possible errors in the examination centre allocation process. The family is now awaiting a revised admit card from the authorities and hopes that a centre in Nagpur will be assigned before the examination.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
