Need for builders to practice professional ethics: Samir Surlaker

Regional Conference of CCMA on Nov 16

Nagpur Today News : There is a strong need for builders and architects to practice professional ethics said President of CCMA Samir Surlaker while answering to a query on how the builders cut corners in expenses while building various structures. He said this at a press meet oragnised by Contruction Chemicals Manufacturers Association (CCMA) on October 19, 2013 called for the benefit of engineers, builders, architects, engineering students and the technocrat in Central India to inform about the regional conference chemicals scheduled on November 16, 2013.

The press meet was addressed by Convener Vivek Naik. He elaborated on the aims and objectives of CCMA. He said that CCMA is newely formed organization and has an intent to spread awareness of the use of right construction chemicals for various civil engineering works and construction activities. He explained that the construction chemicals cover a big range of varities which are almost 200 types.

The products are useful for any type of construction whether new construction or repair or interior. According to him, no construction is complete without construction chemicals. He quoted that Construction Chemicals are used every where, be it small bungalow, housing, large scale township, or various irrigation structures, large and small industries, airports and railways. some of the special products are also used for tunneling ,mining, underground structures and off shore structures.

The new range of product is focused at repair and maintenance of building bridges and various other structures. There is one more range of products which covers protection and durability aspect of construction . the protection coating will make concrete structure more durable and eventually it will reduce life cycle cost of the sturucture. All the products are greatly beneficial and aim at cost saving at various levels of construction.

CCMA is doing best efforts to make product specifications and work specifications which can be adopted by consultant, arctitects and even common man who is constructing his house.

CCMA is adopting international specifications like ASTM, BS & DIN and now substantially and very closely working with bureau of Indian standard for defining specification for almost entire range of construction chemicals. Ccma is strongly represented at bureau of Indian standard, FICCI-CII-ASSOCHAM and various government organizations.

The Nagpur seminar is scheduled on November 16 will be of very great importance for Central India. The participants will be architects, builders, contractors,consultants and various chemicals applicators. In addition to this CCMA is grooming the new generation and inviting students from eminent colleges around Nagpur, Raipur, M.P & Marathwada region. Students will be given special certificate for participation. The speakers during the conference will be stalwarts from construction chemical industry.

During press conference Viver Naik informed that the seminar is supported by Indian Concrete Institute, Institute of Engineers, Institute of Archtects, Builders Association of India, Contractors Association and many other organization and more than 500 participants are expected for the conference.

Various government authorities from National Highway, MES, NIT, NMC will also present during seminar. General Secretary Dr.B L Maheshwari proposed the vote of thanks.
