National Conference on Recent Trends in Chemical Engineering & Technology organised at LIT

Laxminarayan Institute of Technology organised “National Conference on Recent Trends in Chemical Engineering & Technology (NCRTCET) REACT 2014” on the auspicious National Science Day.

The Inaugural function started in Gurunanak Bhavan at 9.45 am despite of heavy rains in the morning. The proceedings begin by lighting the traditional lamp by dignitaries and offering floral tributes to the portraits of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj, Raobahadur D Laxminarayan and Smt. Bahinabai. The students of LIT sang University song and Vigyan Geet.

The Director In-Charge explained the objectives of the conference as to provide the common platform to students and teachers to interact and exchange ideas and experiences and to contribute to the knowledge development. He has appreciated the efforts of Students of LIT for organising this event. He was confident that the conference will enhance the interdisciplinary approach to solve the burning National problems like energy crisis, environmental pollution, clean drinking water etc.

The Director of National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Nagpur Dr SR Wate was the Chief Guest. He has stressed the need to develop interdisciplinary research for design of Chemical Reactor applicable in Bioengineering. He has advised the participants to improve their observation skills while doing research, and cited the example of Human Body which works as Biological Reactor. This is to be understood and analysed from the basic concepts of Science, Engineering and Technology.

The Faculty Department of Chemical Engineering Dr Sameer R Jadhav was the Guest of Honour. He being the alumni of LIT has advised students to interact with faculty members and try to get maximum knowledge of the subject.

The Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Maheshkumar Yenkie has explained the failure of Lunar vehicle just because of unit conversion from FPS to MKS system at NASA. He has motivated students for participation in such conferences.

The Vice Chancellor Dr VS Sapkal has stressed on the need of conference to develop the network among the peer groups. RTMNU will support to create the Centre of Excellence in LIT by providing the access to Virtual Class room. The student delegates from other Universities and other States have participated in the conference.   The participation in oral paper presentation was by 200 delegates, in poster presentation 80 delegates have participated and in Technical Quiz 50 delegates took part. The evaluation of paper and poster presentation has been done by external Judges Prof SR Mote, Prof MD Waghmare, R Sharma, Sneha Puri, WS Deshmukh.

M/s Organic India, Viswahvaraj Infrastructure Ltd, Nitika Pharmaceutical, Zim Laboratories, Sun Enviro, Rsaoya, ICAD, Solar Explosives, GATE Forum, Union Bank of India, Subway, Anacon Labs were the sponsors of the event.

First prize in paper presentation was bagged by Vipul Gandhi (JDIET Yavatmal) and Urvi Khandekar with Vidula Ramdugwar (LIT, Nagpur). Second prize was won by Shrikant Thombre (VIT Pune) and Anjali Kurve (LIT Nagpur). Third prize winners are Abhir Purohit, Pushpak Dronkar (LIT Nagpur) and Rajani Gaigawli (MIT PUNE).

Quiz winner are Akash Amle (First ), B Kukde (Second) and Vikash Saha (Third).

In Poster presentation winners are Shubham Kale (First), Ankita Deshmukh (Second) and Lokesh Zingare (Third).

Mrudul Kulkarni has anchored the function very effectively. The Vote Of Thanks was proposed by Dr RP Ugwekar the Convener of REACT 2014.

All the faculty coordinators have worked cohesively to make this event a grand success. Student Secretary Dnyaneshwar Narode put in lot of efforts. The student volunteers Anvay Joshi, Arjun Ghisad, Ayush Nema, Kunal Ghodmare, Nehab Saraf, Renu Assudani, Mohashin Ansaryi, Neeraj Dhuldhule, Love Bhagat  have taken great efforts.

The Laxminarayan Institute of Technology in association with RTM Nagpur University always strives to arrange such conferences for the benefit of Students.
