Nagpur News : Katol police has registered a murder case and suspected rape charges after a woman’s naked body was found under mysterious condition on Nagpur Katol national highway, at Tarabodi shivar on Tuesday afternoon.
The woman, whose age is suspected to be around 30, has many injuries all over the body. Police has also found a condom packet, earphone wire, a red colour saree and a black colour sweater from the spot. A saree and a black colour sweater were also found a few distances away from the body. The deceased is still unidentified.
The murder recalled the brutal rape and murder case of Nirbhaya at Delhi, which completed a year on December 16, Monday. The incident has once again raised the issue on woman’s safety. While this topic is also on high note in the ongoing winter session, an outcome or solution is needed to reduce such incidents.
Police said that the autopsy was conducted at the mortuary of a rural hospital. Post mortem reports are awaited to slap rape offence along with the murder case.
The body was found by some local school going students around noon. The children alerted the villagers and Katol police was informed.
The woman’s throat was slit by a sharp weapon and has bruises and injuries all over the body. “A slight strangulation mark was also found on the throat which seems that the accused might have attempted to strangulate the woman by earphone wire,” said police. A pair of sandle was found near bushes around.
Cop’s suspect that the accused might have killed the woman somewhere else and later dumped in the jungle area.
