15-year-old girl knocked dead in Kalamna

Nagpur News: A speeding truck knocked dead a 15-year-old school going girl at old Pardi toll plaza turning point on Tuesday morning. The deceased identified as Ranju Mendhe, a resident of Bhandewadi, was a ninth standard student.

Eye witness claimed that she lost life due to alleged poor condition of road and pothole at old Pardi toll plaza turning point. According to the statement of eye-witnesses, Ranju first took a sharp turn to avoid the pothole on the turning point and few seconds later, the truck behind her took the turn. Due to the sudden turn, Ranju lost balance over her vehicle and while she was trying to gain control, the truck knocked down her cycle and ran over her legs.

She was rushed to nearby private hospital where she was declared dead an hour after the treatment.

Her father, Rajkumar, a labourer has filed a police complaint against the truck driver at Kalamna police station.
