Nagpur: A 40-year-old woman was allegedly attacked with an iron saw by her neighbour while she was cleaning the courtyard outside her house in the Sadar area on Monday morning.
The woman, identified as Varsha Sunil Wadhve, sustained serious injuries to her head and both hands in the attack and was subsequently admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.

According to police, the incident took place at around 6 am near Jain Temple Building, beside Shivhare Kirana Shop in the Sadar area.
Wadhve was reportedly cleaning the courtyard in front of her house when her 55-year-old neighbour, Rajesh Pille, allegedly approached her carrying an iron saw and attacked her.
Police said the accused allegedly struck the woman on her head and both hands, leaving her seriously injured.
Her husband and nearby residents intervened and allegedly managed to rescue her from the attacker. She was subsequently rushed to Medical Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
Sadar police have taken Pille into custody and are investigating the circumstances that led to the assault.
According to police, the accused is reportedly suffering from a mental illness and has no previous criminal record. Investigators are examining the reason behind the sudden attack and other circumstances surrounding the incident.
