According to police, Krishna Lal returned home from work on the day of the incident and asked Yamini to prepare food for him and their children. At the time, Yamini was getting ready to attend a dance class being conducted in the housing society. She reportedly refused to cook, following which an argument broke out between the couple.

Police allege that the argument escalated and Krishna Lal assaulted Yamini, striking her on the neck and abdomen with his hands in front of their two children. Police also said that Yamini allegedly retaliated during the altercation. Krishna Lal was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time.

After the assault, Yamini complained of pain in her neck and abdomen and asked her husband to bring painkillers. Krishna Lal went to a medical store, but returned without the medicine after finding the shop closed.

Yamini’s condition subsequently deteriorated. She suffered serious internal injuries to her intestine, causing her abdomen to swell. As her condition became critical, Krishna Lal took her to Max Hospital in Mankapur, where she died during treatment.

Initially, Mankapur police registered a case of accidental death and sent the body to Mayo Hospital for post-mortem examination. The autopsy report subsequently revealed a fracture in the neck bone and severe intestinal injuries that had caused the intestine to rupture.

Based on the post-mortem findings, police detained Krishna Lal for questioning. Following the inquiry, he was arrested and booked in a murder case in connection with the alleged assault.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
