
Nagpur: An old dispute between two groups turned violent in Wathoda area of Nagpur, with both sides allegedly brandishing swords during a confrontation at a residence. Following complaints from both parties, Wathoda Police registered cross FIRs and arrested people from both sides.
The incident took place at Plot No. 61 in Sai Baba Nagar, under the jurisdiction of Wathoda Police Station. According to police, the complainant Pawan Shende and the accused were known to each other and were associated with the transport business. The two sides reportedly had an old dispute.
Police said accused Ritik Shende went to Pawan Shende’s residence, where an argument allegedly broke out over abusive language and threats. Ritik allegedly entered the house, following which Nikhil Nakhate and Hitesh Bagde also reached the spot.
According to the complaint, the two allegedly restrained the complainant while Ritik allegedly took out a sword and attempted to attack him.
The situation escalated when the complainant also allegedly took out a sword and attempted to attack the other side. Both groups reportedly confronted each other, resulting in a violent altercation.
Following the incident, both parties approached the police and lodged complaints against each other. Wathoda Police registered cross FIRs and initiated action against members of both groups.
Police arrested Ritik Shende, Nikhil Nakhate and Hitesh Bagde, along with members of the complainant’s side. The police are conducting further investigation into the incident.
