Nagpur: A dispute over a mere ₹2,000 loan turned violent in Nagpur’s Wathoda area after two friends allegedly attacked a young man with a knife following an argument over repayment. The victim suffered injuries to his neck, hand and abdomen and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Wathoda Police Station. According to police, the complainant Shailesh Meshram and the accused, Roshan More and Anurag Dhok, were known to each other.

Police said Shailesh had allegedly lent around ₹2,000 to Roshan to help him pay a vehicle instalment. When Shailesh later asked for the money back, Roshan allegedly kept delaying the repayment.
Around two days ago, the complainant and both accused reportedly met at a wine shop near Chamat Chowk in Wathoda. After consuming alcohol, an argument allegedly broke out between Shailesh and Roshan over the repayment of the money.
According to the complaint, Roshan allegedly abused Shailesh and questioned him about repeatedly demanding the money, stating that he would not repay it. Both accused allegedly threatened him with serious consequences.
The situation escalated when Roshan allegedly pulled out a knife, while Anurag allegedly grabbed Shailesh from behind. Roshan then allegedly attacked the victim with the knife, striking him on the neck, hand and abdomen.
After the attack, both accused allegedly fled the spot. Shailesh was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Based on his complaint, Wathoda Police registered a case and launched an investigation. Police have arrested Anurag Dhok, while efforts are underway to trace and arrest Roshan More.
