
Nagpur: A family dispute took a serious turn in Nagpur after a man allegedly abducted a 14-year-old boy and threatened the child’s father with murder. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the Crime Branch traced and arrested the accused within three hours, rescuing the boy safely.
The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Nandanvan Police Station. The accused has been identified as Siddharth Arun Pillewan, a resident of Shastri Nagar in Nandanvan.
According to police, Siddharth had an argument with his wife that allegedly escalated into a physical altercation. Following the incident, the boy’s father reportedly took Siddharth’s wife to a hospital for treatment and advised him against continuing the dispute.
Police said Siddharth allegedly became angry over the intervention and took the 14-year-old boy with him from his home.
The accused reportedly took the child to NIT Garden and called the boy’s father, allegedly threatening that the child would be harmed if his wife was not immediately brought back home.
Following the complaint, Crime Branch Unit-4 launched an investigation. Using technical inputs and information from sources, police traced the accused’s location to the NIT Garden area.
A police team reportedly cordoned off the area and arrested Siddharth. His two-wheeler was also seized during the operation.
Police completed the tracing and arrest operation within approximately three hours of receiving the complaint. The boy was safely rescued and handed over to his family.
Further investigation into the case is being conducted by Nandanvan Police.
