Over the past few days, rainfall triggered by cyclonic activity had brought down temperatures across Vidarbha and other parts of Maharashtra. However, with skies now clearing, heat conditions have intensified rapidly.
Temperature May Rise by 2–4 Degrees Celsius
According to the weather department, temperatures in several Vidarbha districts are expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius during the next week, while some areas could witness an increase of up to 4 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has specifically warned that temperatures in districts such as Wardha, Akola, and Amravati could cross the 46-degree Celsius mark. In view of the severe heat conditions, a Yellow Alert has been issued for these regions.
Cyclonic Systems Impacting Vidarbha Weather
Meteorologists said that moisture-laden winds from the Andaman Sea and Arabian Sea had earlier helped keep temperatures under control. However, that effect has now weakened.
At the same time, cyclonic systems developing over Gujarat and Rajasthan are influencing weather patterns in Vidarbha, contributing to the steady rise in temperatures across the region.
Authorities have advised residents to avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses.
