Nagpur Rural APSI caught driving police vehicle in drunken state

Drunk-PolicemanNagpur: Police Officers often display blatant double standard between themselves and ordinary citizens by refusing to arrest a fellow cop who drove the vehicle in a drunken state. It is pertinent to mention here that a large number of policemen are addicted to liquor and can be seen working in an inebriated condition at many police stations.

In one such incident, a policeman from Nagpur Rural Police identified as Assistant Police Sub Inspector Rakesh Yadav was caught by citizens in an inebriated condition. It is alleged that the drunk cop was also trying to extort money from citizens.

Assistant Police Sub Inspector Rakesh Yadav is reported to be from Nagpur Rural Police. He was alleged to be driving the Government Police Vehicle in an inebriated condition. At one place, he is also alleged to have got into a quarrel with another four-wheeler driver.

Drunk cop-3While speaking to Nagpur Today, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-II) Sanjay Latkar said, since they received a complaint of the Assistant Police Sub Inspector Rakesh Yadav found driving in an inebriated condition, an offence was registered against him under sections184,185 of Motor Vehicle Act. Assistant Police Sub Inspector Rakesh Yadav was also taken for a Medical examination and his blood sample was taken. The Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural) was promptly informed about this incident. The Superintendent of Police has since initiated a departmental action against the accused Assistant Police Sub Inspector Rakesh Yadav.
