Nagpur: Police Officers often display blatant double standard between themselves and ordinary citizens by refusing to arrest a fellow cop who drove the vehicle in a drunken state. It is pertinent to mention here that a large number of policemen are addicted to liquor and can be seen working in an inebriated condition at many police stations.
In one such incident, a policeman from Nagpur Rural Police identified as Assistant Police Sub Inspector Rakesh Yadav was caught by citizens in an inebriated condition. It is alleged that the drunk cop was also trying to extort money from citizens.
Assistant Police Sub Inspector Rakesh Yadav is reported to be from Nagpur Rural Police. He was alleged to be driving the Government Police Vehicle in an inebriated condition. At one place, he is also alleged to have got into a quarrel with another four-wheeler driver.


When speaking to Nagpur Today, some cops on condition of anonymity said that “When the men in khaki roam around drunk in uniform even during the day time, they become fearless at night.
