Nagpur: Amid concerns over noise pollution and the use of laser lights during upcoming festivals, the Nagpur Police conducted a special inspection of DJ sound systems to assess compliance with prescribed noise limits.
The sound check was conducted at the Police Commissioner’s Office in the presence of Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil. A DJ setup comprising four bass units and four top speakers was tested during the exercise.
Different songs were played through the system while officials measured the sound levels using a decibel meter. The police also examined the capacity of laser lights and various aspects related to their use during public events.
The exercise was aimed at ensuring that DJ and other sound systems used during upcoming festivals and public programmes operate within the prescribed noise limits and comply with applicable regulations.
Police are expected to issue necessary instructions to DJ operators and event organisers regarding the permissible use of sound systems and laser equipment.
The police have made it clear that while citizens are free to celebrate festivals, compliance with noise pollution regulations is mandatory. Action will be taken against those found violating the prescribed rules.
