Nagpur: The Gittikhadan Police have solved a house burglary case by arresting one accused and recovering stolen valuables worth approximately Rs 3.5 lakh. A juvenile allegedly involved in the crime remains absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him.
According to police, the burglary took place at the residence of Dhammashil, a resident of Gayatri Colony in Gaikwad Layout, Hazari Pahad. The complainant and his family had left for Pune on the night of July 31, leaving the house locked.

Taking advantage of the vacant house, the accused allegedly broke open the lock and decamped with gold ornaments and other valuables collectively worth around Rs 3.5 lakh.
Following the complaint, Gittikhadan Police launched an investigation. Acting on specific intelligence, a police team laid a trap in the Ambazari area and arrested Sagar Verma.
During the operation, police also recovered a stolen two-wheeler from his possession. During interrogation, Verma allegedly confessed that he had stolen the vehicle from the Pachpaoli area.
Police said the accused further admitted to committing the house burglary in Gaikwad Layout with the help of a juvenile accomplice. Based on his disclosure, officers recovered the stolen jewellery and other valuables worth around Rs 3.5 lakh.
The juvenile accused is currently absconding, and search operations are in progress to apprehend him.
Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain whether the accused were involved in other property offences in the city.
