Nagpur: With the onset of the monsoon season, ongoing construction projects in the city have been causing significant issues for residents. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Police Commissioner Ravindra Singal held a meeting with the city’s leading contractors. Following the meeting, several important decisions were made to improve the city’s traffic management.

1. Sadar Traffic Division:
– From Café House Square to Meshram Statue and from Sadar Mangalwari to Patni Automobile, an anti-encroachment drive was conducted, clearing handcarts from the roads.
– Contractors were instructed to install barricades, reflectors, and signage in areas such as Borgao to Gorewada and Purushottam Bazaar to Zenda Chowk Zingabai Takli by 4:00 PM.
2. MIDC Traffic:
– At Wadi T-Point, road construction is underway without barricades and marshals. Contractors were instructed to ensure barricading and deploy marshals in two shifts.
3. Ajni Traffic:
– From Purushottam Bazaar to Shatabdi Square, construction on one side of the road is incomplete. Ajni Traffic Inspector Ritesh Aher has checked the documents and discussed with DFSL Company representative Shri. Pohani, who explained the safety measures taken at the site.
4. Kamptee Traffic:
– Cement work on the road from Chikhli Square to Deputy Signal is ongoing without proper barricading and signage. Contractors were given instructions to address these issues promptly.
5. Sonegaon Traffic:
– A pipeline inspection at Padole Square revealed scattered materials on the road, which was promptly cleared by the contractor.
6. Sitabuldi Traffic Division:
– Work on the Hump Yard Road is nearly complete, and the road will be open for traffic by the end of the week. Contractors were advised to ensure all barricading is in place by evening.
7. Cotton Market Traffic Division:
– Roadwork from Ashok Square to Bhola Ganesh Square is ongoing with proper barricading. Contractors were instructed to add reflective strips for safety.
8. Lakadganj Traffic:
– Construction on the flyover from Lakadganj Police Station to Vardhaman Nagar Power House Square is ongoing. Contractors have been reminded to ensure proper barricading, reflector lights, and signage.
9. Indora Traffic Branch:
– Pipe laying work between Automotive Square and Yashodhara Nagar is in progress. Contractors have complied by installing reflective strips and barricades as per instructions.
