RTI Reply Says No Projects Remained Incomplete Between 2021-22 and 2025-26.
Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Project Department-2 has stated that no budget-approved project or scheme under its jurisdiction remained incomplete during the five financial years from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
The information was provided in response to an application filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, seeking details of incomplete projects, including their departmental lists, sanctioned amounts, expenditure and reasons for delays.
In a letter dated October 16, 2026, the office of the Deputy Engineer and Public Information Officer (Project-2) informed RTI applicant Rajiv Ranjan Kushwaha that the requested information was “nil”, as the department had no incomplete projects or schemes to report for the period in question.
The application was filed on August 6, 2026, and received under the relevant RTI registration on August 10, 2026. The query specifically sought details of projects approved in the civic body’s budgets for the five financial years up to 2025-26.
The reply was issued by Rajiv B. Gautam, Deputy Engineer and Public Information Officer, NMC.
The letter also stated that if the applicant is dissatisfied with the response, he can file a first appeal before the designated First Appellate Authority within 30 days. The authority is the Executive Engineer (Project-2), located on the fourth floor of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Administrative Building at the NMC headquarters in Civil Lines, Nagpur.
The RTI response records the department’s official position. Any further verification of project completion status would require examination of the relevant project records and supporting documentation.
