Nagpur: The Crime Branch’s Anti-Narcotics Team has arrested two men and seized 17 grams of MD powder during an anti-drug operation in the Nandanvan area of Nagpur. One suspect is absconding and a search is underway.
The action was carried out in front of NIT Garden at Deshpande Layout, within the jurisdiction of Nandanvan Police Station. Police detained Sunil Juneja, 38, and Atul Shende, 32. Another accused, identified as Nihal alias ‘Baba Shende’, managed to evade arrest.

Police seized 17 grams of MD powder, two mobile phones and a moped, with the total value of the seized property estimated at around ₹1.62 lakh. The seized MD is valued at approximately ₹52,000, according to police.
Police said Sunil Juneja has previously been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
A case has been registered at Nandanvan Police Station under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.
Police are now searching for the absconding accused, Nihal alias ‘Baba Shende’, and investigating the source of the seized MD as well as the possibility of a larger drug supply network operating in the area.
