Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit-4 has reportedly cracked a series of house burglaries in the Imamwada police station area, taking a minor into custody. Police said the investigation revealed the minor’s alleged involvement in around 15 house burglaries, with stolen property worth approximately ₹16.90 lakh recovered.
The case came to light after a burglary was reported at the residence of Milind Kamble in Dahipura Layout, Untkhana, on September 13. After Imamwada Police registered a case, Crime Branch Unit-4 began a parallel investigation.

Led by Police Inspector Baburao Raut, the team examined footage from around 500 CCTV cameras while analysing technical inputs. Based on the investigation, police took a minor into custody.
During questioning and subsequent investigation, police recovered 12 gold items, silver anklets and mobile phones allegedly linked to the burglaries. The total value of the recovered property was estimated at ₹16.90 lakh.
According to police, scrutiny of the minor’s alleged activities revealed his involvement in approximately 15 house burglaries.
Police further said that after some of the thefts, the minor allegedly travelled to Ajmer with another minor, spending stolen money on travel and entertainment. The duo later returned to Nagpur, where they allegedly attempted to sell the stolen gold.
The minor has been handed over to Imamwada Police for further legal action. Police are continuing efforts to trace the other minor allegedly involved in the cases.
