
Nagpur: A Nandanvan Police patrol team arrested a 40-year-old man on Tuesday night after he was found openly brandishing a sharp weapon on a public road in the Wathoda area.
According to police, at around 8:30 pm on November 18, 2025, the patrol team was conducting routine rounds when they spotted a man displaying a large iron knife in front of Bougainvillea Building on Wathoda Road. The team immediately surrounded him, overpowered him, and seized the weapon.
When questioned, the man identified himself as Yogesh Shrikant Pandey (40), a resident of Plot No. 196, Yogeshwar Nagar, near Dighori Cremation Ground, Nagpur. Police seized the sharp-edged iron knife, valued at around Rs 500, from his possession.
Police said Yogesh was carrying the weapon with the intention of committing a cognizable offence and was also found violating prohibitory orders in force. A case has been registered against him under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act at Nandanvan Police Station.
He has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
