Nagpur: Panic gripped the Mahal area of Nagpur after a late-night firing incident was reported near Kothi Road, raising fresh concerns over rising criminal activity in the city. The incident took place between 11:30 PM and midnight, when six unidentified men allegedly arrived on three motorcycles and opened fire in the area.
According to preliminary police information, the accused fired two rounds in an apparent attempt to spread terror and assert dominance in the locality before fleeing the spot immediately after the incident.
In his complaint, local resident Saurabh accused Ravi Mohato and Ganga Kakde of carrying out the firing. Initial investigation by Kotwali Police suggests the incident may be linked to an ongoing rivalry and an attempt to establish supremacy in the area.

The incident created tension in the Mahal locality, and security has been tightened in the area. Mahal police have launched a detailed investigation and are working to trace the accused involved in the firing case.
