Nagpur: A serious incident involving alleged assault, casteist abuse, attempted strangulation, death threats and an attempt to forcibly take a man into a car has been reported within the jurisdiction of Kapil Nagar Police Station. Complainant Aniket Ganvir has approached the police, claiming that an FIR had not been registered even two days after the alleged incident.
According to Ganvir’s complaint, some individuals allegedly picked a quarrel with him and abused him. He has also alleged that casteist remarks were made during the confrontation. He further claimed that he was assaulted and strangled in an attempt to kill him.
Ganvir also alleged that the accused threatened him and tried to forcibly make him sit inside a car. The incident reportedly created tension in the area for some time.
Following the incident, Ganvir approached the police and demanded strict action against those named in his complaint. He has sought registration of a case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other applicable legal provisions. He has also demanded a medical examination and verification of CCTV footage from the scene to establish what exactly occurred.
However, Ganvir’s claim that no case had been registered even two days after the incident has raised questions about the police response.
Police said an inquiry into the matter is underway. Further legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
The allegations in the case are yet to be established. The exact circumstances of the incident and the roles of the individuals involved will become clear only after the police investigation is completed.
