Nagpur: The scorching summer heat is taking grip over Nagpur as the city recorded the highest maximum temperature of the season with 41.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. India Meteorological Department (IMD), on Tuesday, predicted cloudy weather with thunderstorms, lightning and light showers in some places of Vidarbha for the next three days.
The cloudy weather will prevail over Nagpur also but the summer heat with the presence of moisture in the atmosphere will increase the discomfort for the people for the next couple of days.
Despite increasing temperature, there is no heat wave condition prevailing over Vidarbha so far as the maximum temperature is just 1-2 degrees above normal. For declaring a heat wave condition, the maximum temperature should cross 5 degrees Celsius above normal for at least two days.
Chandrapur, once again, recorded the highest maximum temperature in Vidarbha on Tuesday with 43.6 degrees Celsius which was 2.2 degrees above normal. Bramhapuri (43.2 degrees Celsius), Gondia (43.2 degrees Celsius), Wardha (43.0 degrees Celsius) and Yavatmal (43.0 degrees Celsius) also recorded the maximum temperature above the 43 degree mark on Tuesday. The minimum temperature all over Vidarbha was also above normal on Tuesday.
Wardha, with 27.4 degrees Celsius, recorded the highest minimum temperature in Vidarbha. Chandrapur was in second place with 26.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Buldhana (25.6 degrees Celsius), and Bramhapuri (25.5 degrees Celsius) recorded the minimum temperature above the 25 degree mark. The minimum temperature of Nagpur was 23.7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The weather for the last 2-3 days was dry which increased the temperatures all over Vidarbha.
