Nagpur: A young man was allegedly robbed at knife-point by four youths in the Imamwada area. The accused later followed him to his sister’s home and created a disturbance while demanding an additional ₹5,000. Imamwada police have arrested the main accused and are searching for his three accomplices.
The incident took place at night in the Rambagh area. The complainant was on his way to his sister’s home when the four men followed him. They stopped him on the road, threatened him with a knife and forcibly took ₹1,000 from his pocket. They also threatened to kill him.
The frightened complainant somehow reached his sister’s home, but the accused continued to follow him. Shortly afterwards, they reached the house, knocked on the door and demanded ₹5,000. They threatened him with serious consequences if he failed to pay. The accused also knocked over a dressing table kept near a window, creating a commotion inside the house.
After the complainant’s sister returned from her village, he told her about the incident. A complaint was subsequently filed at the Imamwada police station. Police examined CCTV footage from the area and identified the accused.
During the investigation, police arrested Rithik Vicky Khobragade of Rambagh. His three accomplices remain absconding, and police are searching for them. According to police, it has emerged that Rithik had been booked in criminal cases previously as well. Imamwada police are conducting further investigation.
