Nagpur: A dispute over alleged misappropriation of hostel collections turned violent in Nagpur after a 36-year-old marketing executive was allegedly assaulted, abused and threatened with a knife by three men who had summoned him for questioning over the money.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Kapilnagar police station, which has registered a case against the three accused.

The complainant, Pravin Ambadale, 36, works as a marketing executive and is associated with a hostel company along with the accused.
According to his complaint, rent collected from hostel residents was credited to his bank account and subsequently withdrawn in cash and handed over to senior hostel employee Sonu Tiwari.
The hostel owner, Syed Faizan, allegedly suspected Pravin, Sonu Tiwari and a woman employee of misappropriating the hostel money.
On September 19, Pravin was reportedly preparing to approach Sadar police with a complaint. When the accused allegedly learnt about this, they summoned him near the Nari Metro Station on Kamptee Road, opposite K.K. Hostel.
According to the complaint, Mohammed Saifan, Syed Faizan and Yash Madne were present at the spot. Mohammed Saifan allegedly kicked Pravin in the chest, following which all three allegedly abused him and threatened him with a knife.
The accused allegedly pressured Pravin, the woman employee and Sonu Tiwari to admit to misappropriating the money. They also allegedly recorded the confrontation on video.
The complainant further alleged that he was subsequently taken towards the Gittikhadan police station area and abandoned outside the police station before the accused fled.
Pravin sustained injuries in the alleged assault and was subsequently treated at Mayo Hospital.
As the incident fell within the jurisdiction of Kapilnagar police, a case was registered against the three accused under relevant provisions of law.
Police are investigating the allegations and examining the alleged video recording and other evidence related to the incident.
