Nagpur GRP reunites missing 14-year-old girl with her mother

Nagpur: Government Railway Police (GRP) Nagpur traced a 14-year old girl who went missing from Railway Station after alighting from 12227 Dakshin Express. The girl was reunited with her mother after painstaking efforts of GRP officials.

According to police, the father of the girl died a few years back. The girl, with her elder sister and mother, had gone to Uttarakhand on June 14. They started for Nagpur in Dakshin Express and the train arrived in Nagpur on Thursday. The elder sister boarded the Chhattisgarh train with her grandmother. While walking through Platform No 2 with her mother, the younger girl went missing from the railway station. The mother was panicked and she reported the matter to GRP station.

The GRP swung into action and constituted special teams to trace the girls. A case of kidnapping was registered by the police. Acting on a tip-off, the police learnt that the girl was at her female friend’s house. The cops traced the girl and reunited her with the mother. “She had gone to the Koradi and Futala area with a friend,” they said.

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police M Rajkumar, Addl SP Vaishali Shinde, the breakthrough was made by Police Inspector Manisha Kashid, API Dole and staff including Shailesh Uke, Sanjay Patle, Pushparaj Mishra, Roshan Mogre,Yogesh Ghurde, Majhar Ali, Jyoti Neware, Shraddha Tiwari and Abhishek Thakre.
