Nagpur: Even as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several districts across Maharashtra, Nagpur residents have reason to breathe easy. According to the weather forecast issued by the Mumbai Meteorological Centre for July 6 to July 10, Nagpur has been placed under a Green Alert, indicating no threat of extreme weather.
For July 6, the district is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. However, no Yellow, Orange, or Red Alert has been issued for Nagpur during the period July 7 to July 10, suggesting that the risk of heavy to very heavy rainfall remains low.
The weather department has forecast intermittent rain showers and generally cloudy skies over the city during the next few days. While residents may continue to experience wet weather, there is currently no indication of severe rainfall or flood-like conditions.
Meanwhile, several parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Palghar, Ratnagiri, and parts of the ghat regions, have been placed under heavy rainfall alerts. Authorities have advised residents in these areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
