Nagpur: The State Excise Department’s Nagpur-2 team has busted an alleged fake country-made and foreign liquor manufacturing operation in Anandgaon, Katol tehsil, seizing material and vehicles worth approximately ₹54.62 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, the excise team raided a house in the Anandgaon area where counterfeit liquor was allegedly being prepared. Officials recovered finished liquor as well as raw materials and equipment used in the manufacturing process.
The seized stock included 204 bottles of 90 ml Rocket Santra country liquor, 156 bottles of 90 ml Tango Punch country liquor, and 408 bottles of 180 ml Royal Stag foreign liquor.

The team also seized approximately 1,500 bulk litres of prepared blend and 1,000 bulk litres of rectified spirit, along with other materials used in the alleged production of fake liquor.
A Bolero pickup and a Hyundai i20 car, allegedly used for transporting the liquor and related materials, were also taken into custody.
The State Excise Department has initiated further investigation into the case to identify those involved in the alleged illegal liquor manufacturing and distribution network.
