This achievement not only celebrates individual excellence but also underscores India’s rising stature on the global technology stage, embodying the spirit of self-reliance, creativity, and cutting-edge development that defines the nation’s digital journey.
Organised jointly by DEV Community and GitHub, the international competition drew over 400 participants from across the world. Running from January 22 to February 15, 2026, the challenge required entrants to develop entirely original command-line applications using GitHub Copilot CLI —a revolutionary AI-powered terminal tool that translates natural language prompts into functional code, debugging assistance, and GitHub workflows, transforming the command line into a complete development environment.

Divyaprakash’s standout project, AutoShorts: The AI Gaming Editor, earned widespread acclaim from the judges. Built through conversational AI interactions in the terminal, this tool automates the analysis of long-form gameplay footage to detect captivating moments, intense action sequences, humorous mishaps, or triumphant highlights, before automatically extracting, cropping into vertical format, rendering, and enhancing clips with subtitles or AI-generated voiceovers.
The result is ready-to-upload short-form content optimised for platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. By running entirely locally with GPU acceleration (leveraging libraries such as PyTorch for scene analysis and decord for video processing), AutoShorts delivers high performance, privacy, low latency, and zero cloud dependency, addressing key pain points of existing AI video tools.
Divyaprakash completed his early schooling at St. Johns School, Shillong (Meghalaya) and St. Xavier’s High School, Hingna Road, Nagpur (Maharashtra), laying a strong foundation in discipline, holistic education, and academic excellence. He later earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM), Nagpur, and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Rutgers University, USA. He currently serves as a Full-Stack Engineer in Gurugram, Delhi NCR, where he also serves as Founder and Chief Architect of TimekeeperX, an HRMS SaaS platform.
His technical expertise spans Node.js, Next.js, React Native, AWS, Terraform, Arch Linux, and Nushell TimekeeperX, an advanced Human Resource Management System (HRMS) SaaS platform.
