Nagpur Bans DJs, DJ Vehicles and Laser Lights Until November 1

Nagpur Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangare Patil has announced a ban on the use of DJs, DJ vehicles, dim lights and laser lights in the city from tonight until November 1, ahead of the upcoming festivals.

The decision was taken to maintain public peace, ensure citizens’ safety and keep traffic moving smoothly. The police administration has adopted a strict stance in view of the noise pollution caused by loud DJs during festivals and the disturbance caused by laser lights.

Police will take action in accordance with the law against those who violate the order during the ban period. Ganesh mandals, organisers and citizens have therefore been urged to follow the police directive and celebrate the festivals peacefully and safely.

Appeal to use traditional instruments

The police administration has appealed to people to use traditional instruments such as dhol-tasha, bands, sandal and bhajans instead of DJs. It has also urged citizens to ensure that celebrations do not cause noise pollution or inconvenience to others.
